Comments: I am researching genealogy and was told that my Grandfather\\\'s brother - Sabino Lopez- was a sheriff in Mora County and was killed in the line of duty. My Grandfather took over as acting Sheriff. I can\\\'t seem to find any information and was wondering if anyone on this site may have info. My Grandfather\\\'s name is Lorenzo Lopez of Ocate (dod 06/11/71).

Comments: The publication "New Mexico's Finest, Peace Officers Killed in the Line of Duty 1847 - 1996", author Don Bullis Published by the New Mexico Department of Public Safety does not list a Sabino Lopez as having died in the line of duty. No police officers from Mora County are listed.

Comments: I found info regarding my Great Grandfather in \"A History of New Mexico\". He was in fact a well loved sheriff of Mora County. 2 pages matching sabino lopez in this book Page 151 Page 152
