Comments: I've been searching to no avail for the name of a village that a NM history teacher told me about. According to my teacher, a colonial area governor made up a village in order to defraud the Spanish government for the cost of troops and supplies. I have torn apart my NM history books trying to find a reference to this imaginary village. Please help!

Comments: Sara, your teacher might have had some wrong information. I have studied NM history extensively and do not recall such an event. Lets see what others have to say here.
