b. April 27, 1862, Springtown. Texas; s.  William A. and Martha J. Patterson; educ. public schools, Springtown; farmer and stockraiser  near Springtown until 1896; justice of peace, Springtown, 1894-6; located in Baylor Co., Texas, 1896, a farmer, stockraiser and merchant; justice of peace, and tax collector, 1899-1900; 1900-3 farmed at Cryer Creek, Texas; 1903 located near Hobart, Oklahoma; 1904-5 state business agent,  Farmers’ Union of Okla.; 1905 state lecturer and organizer; 1906.7 national lecturer and organizer; 1907 located in Chavez Co., N. M.; now county lecturer and organizer Farmers’  Union; pres.  Patterson local No. 83; dry farmer; mem. Masons, I.O.O.F., Farmers’ Union.
