WILLIAM McKEAN, attorney, (Rep.) delegate Taos Co.; b. April 7, 1854, Seneca Co., Ohio, s. of Rev. John and Elizabeth (Harris) McKean; early educ. pub. Schools Ohio; grad. Baldwin Univ., Berea, Ohio, 1876; read law, Cleveland, Ohio, 1878; admitted to practice 1880, in Milan, Mo.; practiced in Milan, Mo., three years; removed to Barber Co., Kansas, 1884; practiced law and engaged in stockraising there until 1896; 1891 retired from law and entered civil engineering; removed to New Mexico, 1896, and located in Taos Co. as civil engineer; resumed practice of law in Taos; city attorney, Kiowa, Kansas, 1886; attorney Mo. Pac. Ry., 1886-9; U. S. Deputy Mineral Surveyor for New Mexico, 1898-1908. Address: Taos, N. M.
