FLOYD C. FIELD, attorney and lecturer, editor Clayton Citizen, (Rep.); b. Covington, Pa., Feb. 22, 1855; s. of Rev. P. A. and Hannah Field; of same family as Cyrus W. Field and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen J. Field; removed to Ohio and completed education at Lebanon (Ohio) College; admitted to practice law, Chicago, 1882; lawyer, writer and lecturer, Chicago; interested in horticulture, owning orchard near Shelbyville, Ill.; active in Rep. party in Illinois; came to New Mex. 1908 and located in Clapham as attorney and ranchman; championed initiative and referendum in constitutional convention; mem K. of P., charter member Hope Lodge No. 77, Dayton, Ohio.
